Earth Day
Over the weekend, Ronald and I celebrated Earth Day by camping and volunteering with the Olympic Coast clean-up crew.
The weather was spectacular and I geniunely loved being at a beach again. The waves on the Pacific Ocean are immense and the logs, or should I say trees, that wash up on the shore are massive. It really was rewarding picking up the trash. I felt like I was contributing something for the day. Ronald and I even managed to haul out a lead crab trap like the ones used on Deadliest Catch. Those suckers are so heavy but it became a challenge and a matter of pride since the other volunteers that were on the beach were looking at us in awe. I had to maintain my tough girl image. The rest of the trash was composed of lots of buoys, rope, fishing twine and boots. So after 4 bags of trash, 1 crab trap and a tire, we called Earth Day a success and headed to the barbecue.
Random thoughts and questions from my time at the beach:
1.) Is there skill involved in UNO?
2.) If a person is a faster runner, will they be a faster galloper and skipper too?
(Ronald and I determined that the answer was yes through numerous beach races)
