No more siestas
It's amazing how fast your life can return to normal after being away for so long. South America feels like nothing more than a really good dream that I never wanted to wake up from but the darn alarm kept sounding so here I am.
I'm still in the process of finding my next career stage and have been "actively" searching for a job but am once again sustaining myself on unemployment.
In the meantime, I've been exploring more of what Seattle has to offer on the smallest budget possible. This included lunch and kayaking with a friend at my new favorite spring/summer place. After kayaking around Lake Union, I'm still half tempted to move for the fourth time in less than 2 years so that I can live in a houseboat. And yes, I realize that this free time is making me a little crazy.
I've also decided to actively train for a bike tour that goes from Seattle to Portland over the course of 2 days so I've been hopping on my bike as much as possible. I'm not sure that I'm actually going to go through with it but I love the idea of challenging my body to complete something so grueling. I must admit the training has allowed me to do some soul searching and see some beautiful sights around the city.
So my return hasn't been too crushing. I think it might have something to do with the fact that I have found some great Argentinian wine that isn't too expensive. My malbec is calling me now...
